NEW SIEGE EQUIPMENT RELEASES IN SPRING

Post by barr7430 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 4:22 pm

Currently being finished off for release soon are a wide variety of devices, weapons and the like relating to sieges.

Amongst other things we'll be releasing

Coehoorn mortar in the firing position
Coehoorn mortar being carried by a team
Large siege mortar
Tools and barrows and furniture
Artillery maintenance equipment
Gunpowder manufacturing equipment
Gabions of different sizes
Fascines
Ladders
Barrels
Vinegar butts
Mantlets
Chevaux de frise

And quite a few other wee bits and pieces.

Should be suitable from TYW to GNW.

Barry,
that is real great what there will be all realeased in the future :D

While reading the list I said to myself: "When I go to order Siege Equipment in Scottland to be delivered to Austria to fight with my Saxons in England against the French! Weird!"
„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.

The designer of the equipment is the same chap who created our fine artillery. I hope to see some photos very soon. After that, production and release will follow very shortly

Will these include the pushers and lifters and other strong, unskilled, backs for the gunners?

The accompanying men will be designed by Clibinarium. The equipment designer sculpts inanimate objects as a speciality. The new stuf will be of the same calibre(no pun intended) as the highly successful guns.

The guns have been one of Warfare's best selling items :D :D :D

I would like to see gunners working in their shirt sleeves, I'm sure after the exertions of loading firing and running back guns I'm sure they would soon discard coats and swords.

At last I have my hands on the goodies. I spent some time putting together some spare masters. I have painted everything except the wagons and here is a list of how it is likely to be bundled:

1.Artillery 'A' Frame gin with block and tackle
2. Siege artillery/infantry screen with sliding doors at head height
3. Chevaux de frise
4. Coehoorn mortar / medium mortar + bomb / petard + carrying poles
5. Gabions (3 types) under construction + scaling ladder
6. Table, chair, 2 chests, pick, shovel and long axe
7. Large fascine rack with 3 stacked fascines, 2 loose large fascines and 2 loose small fascines
8. 2 barrels, metal cauldron, powder basket, water half butt, upturned church bell used as mortar for powder grinding and sieve.
9. Large siege mortar and shell

In addition, we have nine variants of large, four wheeled wagons with a variety of hard and soft tops, hay nets, tool boxes etc. These will probably be cast in resin for retail.

And also.. we have two sizes of completed gabions (currently cast in resin)

We also have the large barrel for the Positional gun finished with beautiful French style scrollwork on the upper side.

The work has been done using the illustrations from Edouard Wagner's European Weapons & Warfare 1618-1648 as the reference. The work has been undertaken by the excellent designer who brought you the existing artillery we offer in the range.

IT WILL WORK EQUALLY WELL FOR ANY ARMY/PERIOD/THEATRE BETWEEN 1600-1750 approx.

Pictures will appear here and on the blog over the next few days. I expect most of the sets 1- 9 to be commercially available from the mid - end of July. We will open this stuff up for pre order. The investment has been considerable and well worth it.
