OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Like that. Nice variation on the
Spirit Games purchasing dilemma solution of just buying every thing. Only flaw in it is I generally run out of money well before that....

Ginger,
thanks for your comment.
Friends,
The next two battalions currently see their final touches and so four battalions will be delivered to me next week.
Pictures, as promised, are to follow soon.
Cheers,
Günter

Dear Friends,
It took me quite a while to finish them but now I can say they are ready to be shown here - the first Siege Gun of the Electorate of Saxony. Here are a few pics:
Now I can concentrate on my Cavalry. Most likely will the Infantry arrive this week.
Enjoy,
Günter

That's a nice looking vignette Gunter, you certainly wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of it.
Cheers

Thank You Maciek. Very kind.
It was the general idea to remove the bases because of the use wooden planks.
Cheers,
Günter

Gunter,
I've thought about removing the bases, how difficult was that to do? Any tips/tricks that may be helpful?
Thanks.

Greg,
The bases are quite slim. I used a sidecutter for cutting away the bases and it worked well. If you have a very steady hand (which I dont have) a Stanley knife can be used to remove what remains of the bases under the figures.
Nothing fancy..

When I've done that in the past I actually cut the base with a pair of snips leaving the rest of the base under the foot then file it down to a peg shape and glue into drilled - in the base to hold the figures in place.

@ Gunter,
A sidecutter - is that something like a band saw or something on the Dremel level?
@ Dave,
That technique sounds very interesting. My next was going to be about pinning the figure to the new base...that's an option.
Thanks guys!

Dear Friends,
The next units to be shown here are the two of my first received Saxon units.
The Cuirassier Regiments Kurprinz and Leibregiment:
Kurprinz
Leibregiment
Flags, as soon as available from Clarence's desk, are still to be mounted.
Soon more are to follow... the Garde du Corps and 3 Cuirassier Regiments. The Infantry will show up in between.
Cheers,
Günter
