Hi Mark
The best way to get hold of a copy for yourself is to contact the Wargames Illustrated office in Nottingham, (even easier if you're in the UK?), and ask them if they have a copy of the Mark Allen articles collection CD.
Some months back, a nice chap ( I sadly forget who!!
)posted a question on here and on the The Miniatures Page (TMP) asking how many people would be interested in having a copy, and quite a few people did. He contacted WI directly, and asked them if they could put all the articles on CD-ROM format, which they did, for I think about £20. They might have some left over.
As I live about 45 mins drive away, I popped over to their Nottingham office after a phone chat with them, and picked a copy up. Although some of the information is dated, it's a very good place to start, and to be honest, along with joining this forum, it was the 'thing' that kickstarted my interest in this period..... well that, and the 'Beneath the Lily Banners' rules, and the warm welcome, and the beautiful armies, and the amazing demonstration games at shows, and......
Contact WI, and see if they have any more copies; if they're unsure about what you mean, explain a bit more and they'll get your drift!! There's good basic info in the articles about French, 'British' - ie. English and Scots, and Allied uniforms and Standards, kit, regiments, etc. Some bits are slightly inaccurate, but it's a good 'primer'.
Hope this helps. I'll root around and see if there's anything else to add about the Fusiliers, from the articles I've got.
Best wishes
Andy
