Please List Location in Profile

Post by Bluebear » Wed Mar 07, 2007 11:00 am

Gentlemen,

Please list your location as part of your profile. First of all, this helps us all find opponents. (You don't have to be super specific -- if it is a large city, name it -- otherwise, just country and province or state).

I suspect that it would also help Barry weed out some of these spammers. They mostly are automated I believe . . . and they certainly don't want their locations known.

So let's enter our locations. Mine is on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada (if you're interested). What's yours?

I just checked the "Memberlist" and sorted by "Location" . . . . and I'm impressed.

Currently 155 members have listed a location; and 100 have not. That's better than 60%, which is really high for a forum of this nature.

Also, of our 255 members, 147 have posted at least one comment; while 108 are just lurking.

They may be lurking because like me they received the message:

"Your account is currently inactive, the administrator of the board will need to activate it before you can log in. You will receive another email when this has occured."

Eventually, I took the plunge and discovered I was needlessly holding back.

Barry,

There may well be a Membership list for you . . . but we normal members no longer have any option to view it.

Now that is fine if you want it that way . . . but it does make it difficult to find others who play in the period and may live close to us.
