Donnybrook at Dumfries

Post by obriendavid » Sun Mar 09, 2014 12:13 pm

It was good to meet a number of members from the forum at the LOA Donnybrook display at 'Albanach' the Dumfries annual show yesterday.
The game and rules generated a lot of interest and we managed to get quite a few people to try out the game plus Barry seemed to sell quite a number of sets of rules. The highlight was how 'Toggy' seemed to disappear when any youngsters showed any interest in trying out the game

Yes Dave

I'd installed height sensors around the table, anybody under 5' triggered an alarm & I scarpered.

How did YOU get on playing the 2 young chaps?

My dice rolling has never been great but I'm sure those little guys jinxed my dice even more, my unit of Indian troops led by a character failed to score a single hit unlike their drilled musketeers who managed to wipe out everyone, even my character died on his first hit.

Did your Scots actually manage to rescue the 'flying' damsel Bob?

I didn't, I was too busy running the game with Gerry and Toggy was busy hiding from kids and Barry was just chatting. But plenty of other people were taking pics so perhaps they'll post some.

I hope to see them as my mate was one of the organiser and I sadly missed going this year.
