OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Here's the next stand. There will be a command base to follow and then a unit of four bases of Huscarls that will stand to the front of the four Ceorl bases.
The Ceorls:

Thanks David
Dave, they're 60mm x 60mm as i want the option of making the figiures look like they're interacting on the bases- kind of mini vignettes if you see what i mean?
I haven't settled on a ruleset as of yet, we've tried To the Strongest, a great set but not really suited to the attritional combat at Hastings). Bloody Baron's (I know!). I'm not too keen on going with WAB and i may be hard pressed to get the folks at the club to try out Hail Caesar so it's all up in the air really. The rules will have to, or be made to accommodate the base sizes but that is usually easily done with a few minor mods.
Darrell.

I couldn't agree more Darrell, I like to try and make little stories when I am basing up my figures. It's probably a reaction to the past when I started war gaming and all the figures in a unit were all exactly th e same as that was all you could get.
Keep up the good work!

Indeed I do- I've still got some Nappy's from when I was ten! They are of course resplendent in their Humbrol glossy coats!!

I've got to now that I've announced the demo!
I'm actually really enjoying it Dave as it's been a while since I painted any Early Medieval stuff. It's all been HYW for the past year or so. Amongst other things
