Swedish ratings in BLB v3

Post by Gunfreak » Tue May 08, 2018 8:43 pm

In BLB2 swedish guards are guard rating.
But in BLB3 guard rating seems very powerful.

With Sweden having guard dragoons. Life guard horse (both big regiments) and 4 battalions of guard foot.

Also wouldn't elite veteran for most of the other swedish battalions also be to powerful?

I would list the Life Regiment of Horse as Veteran Elite. The Drabants would be Guards. The Life Regiment of Dragoons would be Veteran Elite. The Foot Guards would be Veteran Elite, with the Grenadiers as Guards. But that’s just me.

working on this very material right now Dannie and Gunfreak. Dannie's ratings are very sound. I am swithering over the Life Regiment though...

More soon

Would the rest of the army (original units from 1700) mostly be veteran?

Personally based on my vast experience with the rules (total of one game) I would go for Veteran Elite for all the standard troops except perhaps newly raised units from later in the war like the Tremanning and Femanning units in Skania, and Guard for all of the Guard. The Grenadiers getting the bonus of being all musket armed vs the pike in other units. Attacking double your numbers of opposition as they did historically I think you will need this to stand a chance.

Interesting to see what comes out with the supplement though.
