Private 'Black' Jacques Chalac 3rd Platoon, 1st Company, 1st Battalion 22e Royals did what few men have done and lived to tell the tale. At Messina he and his loader approached to within 20 yards of a Tiger tank and knocked it out with a PIAT projectile which went straight through the turret killing all of the crew and destroying the vehicle. A few days later he destroyed an armoured Quad Flak wagon also with his PIAT! His exploits continued in Normandy where he KO'd a StuGIIIg.
