OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Beautifully done! The shading on the timber and the powder horn is superb.
Keep up the good work!

Wow. Those are wonderful.
Minor detail but if I was going to paint something that well I might have bored out the cannon barrel a bit. It would take the piece beyond wonderful IMO.

Thanks for your kind comments, and you are right Andy, I noticed the cannon barrel is too clean and bright... I'll weather it a little bit with black pigment.
Cheers

Real Lovely!
As the others said the painting work on the wooden parts is incredible.
I think you misunderstood Andy. He ment to drill out the barrels bore h o l e so it gets a round shape and not a such deformed look.
The colour of the Barrels looks ok to me no need therefore to change it.
Cheers,
Günter

Stunning work, the powder horn is particularly well done.

Chema,
For the colour of your gun barrel you can use any colour. Just remember that if you have lazy gunners who dont care about their gun they would get some day a greygreen barrel like this:
http://warmemorials.us/images/artillery ... barrel.jpg
But if you gunners are real professionals and masters of their Art the barrel would look like this one made of bronze:

Just a hint on "bronze"
Cheers,
Günter

Many Thanks guys, yes Günther you are right... sometimes my english is far from perfect and I misunderstand words or phrases
but it's all clear now hehehe.
I find the gun barrel of second picture you posted, too bright for this period.
Cheers.
