Clearly you two have to be on opposing sides... I will ensure that happens
Thanks for the comprehensive list so far. Several players have their own troops and I am very happy to ensure you command your own fellows!
The plans are now afoot. I am working in Dubai this week so have nothing to do with my evenings other than write wargaming stuff... thus the scenario will get a good shift on over the coming days.
Watch this space....

Dear All,
I have been using my free time in the desert well to move the scenario forward. The weekend action will be based around a set of linked games following the theme of alternative history from July 12th 1691.. the day that General St Ruhe and his Irish Army won the Battle of Aughrim.
A disgraced Ginkel has been put out to pasture in Holland and the Williamites have withdrawn from Ireland back to England. King James has regained his old swagger and King Louis smells some toothsome alternatives to the main course being served up in Flanders.
English generals are now 'considering their positions' and a multi point invasion of mainland Britain has already begun with a combined Celtic- Jacobite Army assembled in Scotland and a Franco-Irish/Welsh/English force waxing in the west.
King William is back in England with further continental reinforcements and constructing a plan to mortally wound the causes of both his uncle and the French tyrant.
England's glitterati are living in a febrile atmosphere of paranoid suspicion. Who is loyal to whom? Trust issues abound.
Against this backdrop you will assume commands which over the two months leading up to the weekender with experience the vagaries of campaigning. Soon you will receive a detailed orbat but before that I would like to hear from any of you with a particular preference as far as allegiance.
If you strongly want to advance the cause of the Stuarts/Bourbons then let me know. If you favour the Orange/Stuarts then let it be known!
I have already pencilled in Colin as The Marquis de Ruvigny commanding the Huguenots and Paul Patrick as something suitably Jacobite!
May the luckiest King win!

Barry,
Although I am happy to fit in depending on need, I would prefer a Jacobite command, in a ideal world Patrick Salesgirls would be my first choice

Mark I am presume that either
a. Your autocorrect went into overdrive or
b. You are a closet Williamite who has decided to dub Ireland's great hero as a Tesco shop assistant
The fun has begun already ad Patrick Salesgirl will be the man (to paraphrase his Ballyneety raid password)
You are a Jacobite Mark.. so don't worry

The scenario sounds great Barry.
I look forward to Churchill returning to the Jacobite cause, & teaming up with 'Salesgirl'/Sarsfield, to scatter the Williamite pretenders.

Sounds excellent! Jacobite for preference but I don't really mind. (If I am on the bad-guys side the Danes are old friends...)

Sounds a great scenario Barry. My Irish roots lead me to favour the Jacobite side but my admiration for 'Milord Duke' means that if he is represented on the table in any form, I would happily play that role...
Your choice. It will be a fantastic weekend no matter what... Peter

Same as most by the looks of it, Jacobite by choice but if needs must.......Dutchmen & traitors will die either way.

Shall I write lightly in pencil Jim as I am not sure whether your equivocal answer is due to lack of commitment to the cause or whether there is doubt about you being there

I think Jim is much better suited to being an unfaithful Jacobite

1O Commands are already allocated and the orbats are partially put together.
I will begin sending out information to each commander in September to let them know how their troops are getting on, where in the country they are and what issues they may have to be dealing with.
A rumour that there has been a sharp decrease in the number of frogs to be found around the banks of the River Trent has absolutely nothing to do with the four Huguenot regiments currently garrisoning Newark......
