I have Essex, Old Glory and Falcon, with Eagle miniatures on the way.
Essex have their own distinctive style - if you don't like their figures in other periods, you probably will not like their Franco-Prussian lines. I rather like their artillery, the infantry are all right, and the generals paint up nicely.
Their cavalry do not come with flags for standards - If you are doing French and want their eagles, you will have to scratch-build them for the cavalry. It's a pain.
I'm disappointed with the Old Glory French and Prussians I have. They are not as large as their Napoleonics, and the detail is not as exaggerated. It may make them more anatomically and scale correct, but it makes things like buttons or frogging harder to paint.
I have a bunch of Falcon Prussians. A clean figure, with enough raised detail that you can paint things like buttons or piping easily and have it stand out on the figure. However, I don't know where you can get them - the website for Falcon doesn't seem to have 15mms at all any more.
I've also got some Eagle Miniatures French on order. They look nice. No eagle bearers, however.
